As you surf through the Internet, you will undoubtedly see many Bruce Lee workout sites. Most of them are useless. The articles talk about Bruce Lee workouts, but few give you specific details of how he trained.
I'm going to share with you some of his exercise devices. Some he created on his own and others he just adapted to his needs. Now mind you I'm no Bruce Lee expert, but I have spent hundreds of hours researching this man.
Bruce Lee workout - Strength And Speed
Bruce Lee started training at a young age, his father was skilled in Wu style Tai Chi Chuan and began training him in Tai Chi. It is important to understand, that Tai Chi, the style that Bruce Lee's father practiced, used an exercise called "pushing hands" this is somewhat of an isometric exercise. In that it uses the resistance of another person, as well as an isometric contraction.
From age 13 to 18 Bruce Lee trained with master Yip Man in Wing Chun Gung Fu. In addition to that, Bruce Lee also trained in Western boxing. Winning the 1958 boxing championship match.
Early on, Bruce tried just about anything to increase his speed and power. He started lifting free weights, he used isometric exercise, and he tried just about any exercise gizmo available at the time to give him the winning edge. After a free weight lifting injury, he gave up free weights and began using bodyweight and isometric exercises as the core of his strength and speed program.
Bruce Lee's training methods were effective. In fact, some of the students became World Karate Champions including Chuck Norris, Joe Lewis, and Mike Stone. Between all 3 of them, during their training with Bruce they won every Karate Championship in the United States.
Lee discovered early on, that the key to muscle growth was to keep pushing and placing stress on the muscle. He began using different isometric exercise devices to overcome the major disadvantage of traditional isometrics, which is that you can't measure your growth or add additional resistance. One of the isometric exercise devices that Bruce Lee used was called a Tensolator. He used this device to increase his punching power, and to develop his incredible V-Tapered body.
Bruce Lee consumed every book on the subject, including Bob Hoffman's book on isometric training. That book, titled "Functional Isometric Contraction System" opened his mind to other possibilities and the rest as they say is history.
Regardless of whether you want to gain maximum muscle size or lose body fat-- or both. The correct exercise equipment and nutrition program are essential.

Bruce Lee Body - The Secrets to Bruce Lee's Training
Bruce Lee the mere mention of his name conjures up images of those kung fu movies of the 70s and 80s. Where would Chuck Norris, Jackie Chan and Jet Li... just to mention a few-- be today if it hadn't been for Bruce Lee?
Bruce Lee was not a big man-- he stood 5 foot seven and only weighted approximately 135 pounds but what made him stand out was his lean, muscular physique. They now refer to this as the "Bruce Lee Body."
In the Bruce Lee body the muscles were not the bloated kind you see on today's modern bodybuilder-- instead you saw a V-tapered and, ripped to the bones physique.
Bruce Lee popularized the current day-- Hollywood body of the A-list actors. No longer is it acceptable today for an action star to appear in a movie out of shape without being lean, ripped, defined and with six pack abs.
This is the look that Bruce Lee brought to the screen in the 1970s.
Some have asked-- what prompted Bruce Lee to get into such incredible physical conditioning? As the story goes in 1964, Bruce Lee then a relatively unknown, ended up in a fight with Wong Jack Man -- a no holds barred event.
Bruce Lee won the fight but after the fight he was disgusted with his performance -- he felt he should have defeated him faster -- he felt his strength and conditioning were subpar -- his kicks and strikes needed to be more powerful -- and his lungs were screaming for air.
Out of this came a new generation of martial artist-a muscular, yet ripped to the bone-- Bruce Lee Body!
After the fight Bruce began a strength, conditioning and endurance training program -- as well as his own martial art named Jeet Kune do -- "the Way of the intercepting fist"
But Lee was still a far cry from the muscular physique that you see on the screen today -- he had bad genetics -- he was skinny and stringing -- he had very little musculature on a slight frame.
He researched all that he could his main focus -- building power, speed and strength. He left no stone unturned.
Regardless of whether you want to gain maximum muscle size or lose body fat-- or both. The correct exercise equipment and nutrition program are essential.

At the end of this interval you would then run another 440 yards in 60 seconds, followed by another five-minute rest interval and then again another 440 yards-- continue in this manner for a predetermined number of runs.
The Bruce Lee workout for endurance training should begin this way-

Safety -- jogging is very gradual, you do not overexert yourself and you can begin your own level of fitness
Improves your heart and lungs -- not only your heart and lungs but also your circulatory system is increased by the expanding capacity to process oxygen handle stress. The greatest benefit is the increased efficiency of the heart and lungs.
You will look and feel better -- this type of exercise stimulates circulation, tones the muscles and gives you a more positive outlook. Running/jogging also reduces fat deposits around the hips and thighs and firm signing muscles and helps to flatten your stomach.
You will lose weight -- jogging is an effective way to lose weight.
A flatter stomach and a smaller waist -- this type of exercise helps to shape your body and redistribute your body fat. In recent studies male joggers reduced the size of their waistline and female joggers reduced their dress size by one full size.
These are just some of benefits that the Bruce Lee workout for endurance training can provide you. Using this method along with Bruce Lee's interval training is one of the most effective ways to increase your speed power and strength.
